title: "Sandman Overview"
description: "Disposable cloud environments in seconds — on your accounts, with TTL and auto-reap."
---
[Sandman](https://github.com/BoringInfraCo/Sandman) provisions clean, isolated cloud environments on AWS, GCP, Cloudflare, and Vercel without billing setup, IAM wrangling, or API configuration from Sandman itself.

**Core loop:** Init → Create → Enable → Connect → Destroy

## What it does

- Provision throwaway cloud environments in seconds
- Set TTL with automatic reaping of expired environments
- Preview changes with `--dry-run` before any writes
- Show cost warnings before spin-up
- Keep all state local in `~/.sandman/config.json`

## Provider support

| Provider | Status |
|----------|--------|
| AWS | Supported |
| GCP | Supported |
| Cloudflare | Experimental |
| Vercel | Experimental |
| DigitalOcean | Planned |
| Render | Planned |

## Key features

| Feature | Description |
|---------|-------------|
| Multi-provider | AWS, GCP, Cloudflare, Vercel |
| TTL + auto-reap | `--ttl 2h`; `sandman doctor --reap` cleans expired |
| Dry-run | `create --dry-run` previews without writes |
| Cost warnings | Status shows estimated cost before spin-up |
| JSON output | All commands accept `--json` |
| Local state | No Sandman cloud — your credentials only |
